5.3.2.2

Automatic restart of the interface module in case of error

Automatic restart of the interface module in case of error
In the following situations, the interface module is restarted automatically:
• Detected code distortions, for example due to radiation exposure (cosmic rays or a
radioactively contaminated environment)
• Firmware error
It can take 20 s to 6 minutes between detecting such an error and restarting. For this time,
there is a loss of redundancy.
If the error leads to a maintenance alarm "Hardware error: Increased disturbances detected",
read out the service data from the device and make it available to SIEMENS support for
queries and product improvement. Only reading out service data leads to the reset of the
Maintenance LED display.
You can find more information on reading out the service data in section Reading out service
data (Page 23).
5.3.2.3

Invalid configuration states of the ET 200SP on PROFINET IO

Invalid configuration states
The following invalid configuration states prevent data exchange:
• Number of modules exceeds maximum configuration. You can find additional information
on the maximum configuration in the section Properties (Page 13).
• Faulty backplane bus (e.g. defective BaseUnit). An interruption of the ET 200SP backplane
bus does not trigger an interrupt.
• Server module missing during startup of station
• Invalid or incorrectly configured BusAdapter
