Appendix C: Bulk Provisioning (Unified CM-Based Method)

The following steps will convert multiple phones from Enterprise to MPP firmware.
Prerequisites
Set up the DHCP option and file server for MPP.
Upgrade the enterprise phones to firmware version 12.5 with Unified CM.
Example: sip88xx.12-5-1SR1-4
1.
Upgrade the enterprise phones to the E2M migration load from the Unified FM by specifying the load name (for example,
sip88xx.TLexE2M-11-2-3C12) and load server (for example, 10.23.45.67).
2.
Allow the phones to boot up with the E2M migration firmware and find DHCP option 160.
The device requests $PSN.xml (for example http://10.23.56.67/8851-3PCC.xml
Each phone replaces the $MAU macro with its uppercase MAC address to retrieve the device-specific license file to unable
the upgrade to the requested MPP firmware.
