Troubleshooting
Clearing Misfeeds
When paper misfeeds occur, the red
indicator blinks. Follow the procedure
below to remove the misfed paper.

Turn the cover release lever to un-
lock the cover of the intermediate
feeding section.
The red and green indicators blink.

Open the cover, and then remove
the paper.
Note
❒ If you open the cover, be sure to
remove the paper even if it is
not misfed.
❒ When opening the cover, al-
ways hold the handle to prevent
the cover from dropping and
causing an injury.
❒ When small size paper is misfed
and cannot be removed, detach
the LCIT, and then remove the
paper.

Close the cover, and then move
the cover release lever back to the
original position.
The red indicator goes off.
Note
❒ If a paper misfeed message ap-

pears on the machine, remove
the paper misfed in the machine
also.

Press the up button.

The input tray goes up and a sheet
of paper is fed into the intermedi-
ate feeding section. The green indi-
cator stops blinking and stays lit.
