This document describes how to upgrade the

MPC-3628/MPC-3626 firmware to the latest

version.

The version upgrade data is first saved to an

SD card and then the unit is upgraded using

the menu.

For details about menu operation, refer to the

Operating Instructions.

Preparation

Notes About Version

Upgrade

Always connect an AC adaptor with power

supply rating of 120 W or higher when

upgrading. If a battery pack is attached

at the same time, the upgrade will

continue if the AC adaptor is subsequently

disconnected.

Use an SDHC memory card (Speed Class:

4 to 10, non-UHS, Capacity: 2 GB to 32 GB)

or an SD memory card (File system: FAT16,

Capacity: up to 2 GB).

Use an SD card that has been formatted

using the formatting function of the

MPC-3628/MPC-3626.

For details about the formatting function, refer to the

Operating Instructions.

Saving Version Upgrade

Data to an SD Card

Mount the formatted SD card on the

computer.

Download the version upgrade data ZIP file

from the version upgrade data download

site, and save the data on your computer.

Uncompress the ZIP file to retrieve the

version upgrade data (.bin file name

extension) and save the data in the root

directory of the SD card.

Firmware Version

Do not perform any of the following operations while

upgrading the firmware. The version upgrade will not be

completed, and could cause the unit to malfunction.

For details about MPC-3628/MPC-3626 operation, refer to

the Operating Instructions.

Insert the SD card on which the version

upgrade data was saved into the SD card

slot of the MPC-3628/MPC-3626.

Select Maintenance > Firmware > FW

Update-camera in the menu, and select

Run.

A "Connect DC Power to DC IN Upgrade

Version?" message appears.

Select Run.

A "Version Upgrade VX.XX > VY.YY"

message appears (X.XX: existing version

number, Y.YY: latest version number).

If the version upgrade data cannot be

determined, a "Version Upgrade No File"

message appears. Check the following

possible causes.

The version upgrade data was not saved

in the root directory of the SD card.

The version upgrade data for a different

model was saved.

The version could not be decoded

successfully.

Save the correct version upgrade data on

the SD card, and then perform the upgrade

procedure again from step 1.
