Epson 1280 - Stylus Photo Color Inkjet Printer Installation Instructions Manual
9. Un-web the tubes from the right end beginning at the white plugged ends up to the
right hand side of the beige tube clip on the housing, so that each tube can be
independently connected to its bottle. The tubes are easily un-webbed by just
pulling them apart, no tools are required. Don't go too far.
10. Remove the old bottle caps and install the new ones included with your SLC CFS
cart. Mark each tube so that it will just reach the fitting on the new bottle caps. A
little slack is okay, but not a lot. There should be no up and down loops in the slack
tubing. Make sure bottles are positioned in the proper location.
The order of the inkbottles from front to back is:
Cyan - Light Cyan - Magenta - Light Magenta - Yellow - Black
11. Cut the tubing square on your mark and connect the tubing to the fitting on the
bottle caps. A small amount of alcohol will help the tubing slide over this fitting
easily.
Do not put the wrong color tube on the wrong inkbottle cap.
Follow the tube back to the cartridge where the cartridge label identifies the ink
in the chamber. Make sure the letters on the cartridge label match the last letters
of the part number on the inkbottle.
Save the plugs in a safe place, as you may need them later if you should ever
disassemble the CFS unit.
Repeat this process for each of the colors.
Ready to Turn Power On:
12. Move the cartridges, by hand to the far right side of the printer until they stop.
Plug the printer power plug back into the wall. If the power light on the front panel
is not on, press it in to turn on the power. The printer should make some quiet
noises and the cartridges may move left to right. There should NOT be a red light
on the front panel. THIS IS IMPORTANT. If there is a red light, this means the
chips on the front of the cartridges are not making contact with the printer. See
the troubleshooting section of our website if this happens. Look for the CFS
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE on the CFS web page link found on our home page.
