Connect the Scanner

Use a coin to turn the transportation lock counterclockwise to
the
unlocked position.

Connect the scanner to your computer.
If you're using USB...
Plug the
USB port. Then plug the
USB port on your computer or USB hub.
If you're using IEEE 1394 (FireWire
If you are using the optional FireWire interface, you must first
install the interface card in the scanner. See the instructions
in the User's Guide, and then return to this step.
Plug one end of the IEEE 1394 cable (not included) into the scanner's
IEEE 1394 port. Then plug the other end into the IEEE 1394 port on
your computer.
If you're using SCSI...
See the User's Guide for instructions on SCSI connection,
and then go to the next step.

Plug the scanner's power cord into the back of the scanner.
Then plug the cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

Press the

and then stay on.
Caution: If you turn off the scanner, wait at least 10 seconds before
