Reduced Visible Grain, and
Enhanced Tonal Range
By using light black, the range of shades
in monochrome images and dark areas
are significantly enhanced, which cannot
be achieved by the single black ink
system. In addition, for the dark areas,
the use of light black in place of cyan,
magenta and black enables the
reproduction of subtle gradations while
virtually eliminating visible grain.

75 Years* Lightfastness
EPSON UltraChrome Ink remains vivid
since only the surface of the pigment
particles are affected by light and gas.
In addition, each pigment particle is
encapsulated by a special resin.
This resin forms a coating layer on the
surface of the media to reduce contact
with the oxide gas in the atmosphere
for improved archivability of the image.

Test Conditions
1. Under fluorescent light (indoor display
condition) with glass mount
2. The data is calculated by EPSON's
accelerated test and it does not mean
EPSON guarantees periods.
3. The estimated longevity does not
indicate the colour changing and the
durability of the paper itself.
Superb Water Resistance
of Pigment Ink
Some colour printers use dye based
ink, which is water soluble. This means
prints are easily damaged by water and
moisture. The EPSON STYLUS™ PRO
4000 uses EPSON UltraChrome Ink for
all colours. Ink of this type has a high
resistance to water, resulting in prints
that are more durable and last longer.
The excellent water resistance of EPSON
UltraChrome Ink allows for worry-free
POP installation, even in wet environments.
