Xerox DocuColor 40/30 Family Digital Color Production System
The HCF 2500 requires an additional grounded power
source within reach of the 8 foot power cord that is
provided with the HCF 2500.
The HCF 2500 paper feed vacuum motor can be run in
one of two modes, which is chosen at the time of install.
The silent mode switches the vacuum motor off one
minute after completion of a job, if another job is not
started. To begin a job, when the motor is off, the start
print button must to be pressed twice. In the continuous
operation mode, the vacuum motor runs continuously.
ASF 40 System (Automatic Stapler Folder):
The ASF 40 system is a finishing device. It consists of
the ASF 40 with Trimmer 40 and Accumulator/Rotator.
The ASF 40 System is a Digital Front End (DFE)-driven
accessory, the base DocuColor 40/30 printing engine can
be used for adjustment checking and setup of the ASF 40
System. The ASF 40 operates in two modes. (The
Trimmer40 is available in both modes.)
In automatic mode (inline), the ASF 40 is connected
to the DocuColor 40/30 Family through the
Accumulator/Rotator and receives paper directly from the
DocuColor 40/30.
In manual mode (offline), the ASF 40 is operated as a
standalone device and receives paper fed by an
operator.
The ASF 40 and Accumulator/Rotator each require an
additional grounded power source within reach of the 8
foot power cord which are provided.
Customer Expectations Setting Guidelines
When the ASF 40 is connected to the DocuColor, the
proper power-on sequence is as follows:
1. ASF 40
2. Accumulator/Rotator
3. DocuColor 40/30 Family printer/copier
When a jam occurs, the DocuColor 40/30 UI will not
display UI screens specific to the ASF 40. The UI will
display a jam message that refers to the Stapler/Folder.
The ASF 40 System has control panels where all
operator functions and indicators for operation are
located.
The ASF 40 is capable of accepting paper of the
following sizes:

When 8.5" x11" or A4 sheets are fed to the ASF 40 long
edge in the single sided mode, sets are limited to
aminimum of three (3) and a maximum of twenty (20).
The maximum number of sheets that may be folded
without stapling is 20.
The Accumulator/Rotator purge tray was not designed as
a catch tray, however, it can be used as an Output Tray
for small jobs holding approximately 35 to 50 sheets of 24
