IPv6 Configuration for Phaser 6180 Printer, Phaser 6180MFP, and Phaser 6130
Your Phaser 6180, 6180MFP and Phaser 6130 printers will support IPv4 and IPv6 protocols with the Multi‐
Protocol Network card (MPC). You can configure your IPv4 / IP46 protocols using your CentreWare IS (CWIS)
web page.
1. Launch your web browser.
2. Enter your printer's IP address in the browser's Address field. You will see the home page for the
printer.
3. On the printer's home page, click Properties.
4. On the Properties tab, under Protocols on the left navigational panel, click TCP/IP.
Select the IP Mode setting from IPv4, IPv6, or Dual Stack. Dual Stack supports both IPv4 and IPv6. The IP
Mode selected determines the available settings on the TCP/IP page. See the Help pages provided with
CWIS for information on setting the rest of your IPv4 and IPv6 settings.

- IP mode : Set 'IPv6' or 'Dual Stack'
- Enable manual Address(IPv6): Check the 'Enabled' check‐box.
The available address for the manual 'IP address:' field are as follows:
o Unspecified Address :: , 0::0 – accepted
o Global Unicast Address ‐ prefix 3bits: [001] – accepted
o Link Local Address: prefix 10bits: [1111 1110 10] (fe80) – not accepted
o Site Local Address: prefix 10bits: [1111 1110 11] (fec0) – not accepted
o Multicast Address: prefix 8bits: [1111 1111] (ff) – not accepted
Note: the prefix length is not checked within CWIS if it is correct or not.
Your Phaser 6180, 6180MFP and Phaser 6130 printers also supports IPSec with the Multi‐Protocol Network
card (MPC). You can configure your IPSec protocols using your CentreWare IS (CWIS) web page.

The IPSec page is available when the Multi‐Protocol Network Card is installed. Use this page to enable
IPsec on the printer. IPSec is a protocol suite used for securing Internet Protocol (IP) communications by
authenticating and/or encrypting each IP packet in a data stream. IPSec also includes protocols for
cryptographic key establishment. IPSec can be implemented as part of a company's overall security policy.
See the Help pages provided with CWIS for information on setting the rest of your IPSec settings. Work
with your system administrator for setting up the printer according to your company's security policies.
