Security

XEROX DOCUMENT SERVICES PLATFORM SERIES

GETTING STARTED

The following notes and caveats are specific to Security issues

on the DocuSP controller.

The IPP Gateway loads an unsecured version of Java. If

security is an issue, do not use the IPP Gateway.

–

The DocuJob Converter software must be at least version

2.1.04. This version corrects a timing problem that resulted

in jobs being lost at the controller.

–

Version 2.2 of the DocuJob Converter software, which runs

under Solaris 2.6 on a Sun Ultra 60 platform, is available.

–

VIPP 4.0 demo mode is included with a DocuSP 3.6.xx new

installation. In order to fully use VIPP 4.0, a production kit

and a license will need to be obtained from your Xerox

representative. Existing DocuSP customers with a VIPP

license should be able to upgrade to DocuSP 3.6.xx and

VIPP 4.0. In order to use VIPP 4.0, the DocuSP must be at

version 3.1 or higher.

Macintosh clients using the AppleTalk Gateway submit jobs

very slowly or hang during submission, requiring a reboot of
