• WARNING: The device should be used away from stairwells, elevators and exterior doorways.
• WARNING: Ensure the user is properly positioned in the chair. Improper positioning could result in
a tipping of the chair and/or the user sliding or falling off the chair.
• WARNING: Do not stand, exert great pressure or step on the frame, chair seat, legrest or foot
plate. This can cause the chair to tip or may cause damage to the chair or personal injury.
• WARNING: Do not use the legrest or footplate as a platform. When transferring into or out of the
chair, ensure the foot plate is folded in the upward position and the legrest is in the stored position.
• WARNING: Do not lean on the chair or use it as a walk er.
• WARNING: Do not allow the chair to get wet, or use the chair as a shower or bathing chair.
• WARNING: Do not expose the chair near an open fire or other source of strong heat.
• WARNING: Do not tie down or attach anything to the chair. This could cause tipping and possibly
result in personal injury or damage.
• WARNING: This chair has not been approved as a seat that can be used within vehicles of any
kind. Always transfer the chair user to a vehicle manufacturer-approved seat and use available
safety restraints.
• WARNING: The mechanical lock must be operational before using the chair. Do not operate the
tilt mechanism if the mechanical lock is not operational.
• WARNING: Do not allow a user to bend, lean or reach for objects while using this device. This
may increase the likelihood of tipping and falling.
• WARNING: When transferring into and out of the chair, always engage the caster wheel locks.
• WARNING: Do not allow users to transfer into or out of the chair without assistance. Ensure
users do not put all of their weight on the chair armrests, and do not use the armrests for
weight-bearing purposes.
• WARNING: During transfers, position the user as far back as possible in the chair seat to prevent
the chair from tipping forward.
• WARNING: Do not put fingers beneath the chair while in use. Users and caregivers should be
aware of the potential risks of getting their fingers caught.
• WARNING: Caster wheel locks are not brakes. Do not use the caster wheel locks to slow down
the chair while the chair is moving. Caster wheel locks are only intended to keep the chair in place
when it is at a complete stop.
• CAUTION: The chair should be inspected regularly to ensure all components are properly secured.
• CAUTION: The chair should only be used indoors.
• CAUTION: Users and operators should wear appropriate footwear with nonskid outer soles.
• CAUTION: Prior to operating the chair, the surrounding floor should be inspected for anything that
could cause a potential injury or hazard.
• CAUTION: Before attempting to transfer into or out of the chair, every precaution should be taken
to reduce the gap distance.
