Principles of pedal maintenance

Pedal maintenance procedures for the Disklavier MK III Grand Piano are basically the same as for the

existing Disklavier II Grand Piano.

Adjustment for pedal cap nut (Acoustic adjustment)

Standard: 2mm (0.08 in) of space between damper lifting rail and damper levers

Adjustment for capstan button screw (Acoustic adjustment)

Standard: Damper felts are lifted off at 4-5mm (about 0.1in) from strings 1-2mm

(0.04-0.08in) of solenoid gap when the pedal is fully depressed.

Maintenance mode 03

Standard: Mute time = 1.5sec

Adjustment for pedal cap nut (acoustic adjustment)

Standard: No lost motion

Adjustment for key frame stop screw (acoustic adjustment)

Adjustment for capstan button screw (acoustic adjustment)

Standard: Lever stops as the same time the key frame quits moving.

* This screw is used only for the Disklavier II grand
