Using with a Computer or iPad/iPhone

Connecting to a computer

This instrument supports MIDI (Musical Instrument
Digital Interface) and can be connected to a computer
via a USB cable. For details, refer to "Computer-
related Operations" (page 4) on the website.

Backup and Initialization

Backup Parameters

The following settings are always backed up, and
maintained even when this instrument is turned off.
Backup parameters
• FUNCTION Settings: (page 24)
Tuning, Your Tempo, Master EQ type, Panel Sus-
tain, Auto Power Off, Battery Type
To initialize Backup data, execute "Backup Clear."
NOTICE
Note that the following situations cannot back up or main-
tain the settings of the Backup parameters.
• When the Power Adaptor is unplugged with the power on
(even if batteries are installed):
• When the power is turned off due to accidents such as
electric power failure:
• When the Alkaline battery/Manganese battery runs down
(without connecting the Power Adaptor):

Connecting an iPad/iPhone

By connecting your smart device, such as an iPhone
or iPad, to a compatible Yamaha digital instruments
and using applications, you can take advantage of var-
ious functions—expanding the potential of the instru-
ment and make it an even more integral part of your
total music life. To connect your iPhone/iPad to the
USB TO HOST terminal of the instrument, an i-UX1
interface is necessary. For details, refer to "iPhone/
iPad Connection Manual" (page 4) on the website.

Initialization

This function erases the Backup data, then restores all
the default factory settings. As required, execute the
following procedure.
Backup Clear
This operation initializes the backup data.
While holding down the highest white key on the key-
board, press the [
] (Standby/On) switch to turn the
power on.
