Backlighting
When you lift a handset from the base or when you
press handset keys, the display and keys remain lit.
After 15 seconds, the backlighting turns off. To turn
it back on again, press

Keypads
Tips for using the keypads
When you press an alphanumeric key on a keypad,
the number is selected (for tasks where numbers
are appropriate) or a letter is selected (for tasks
where letters are appropriate).
Each key has more than one letter available, and
you fi nd a letter by continuing to press the key until
you see it.
•
Letter: Without pausing, press a key repeatedly
until you see the letter of your choice.
•
Pause: Pause between characters, until the
new character position is highlighted.
•
Spaces: On a handset, press 0 to enter a space.
On the base, press #.
•
Corrections: On a handset, press
Erase to erase the last character that you
entered. On the base, press
