Stage 2: Warning Cue Stage
Teach your dog that the desired response after the warning signal is to go
back to the Safe Zone.
NOTE - Use a warning signal only (Vibration or Beep) in this stage.
1. Walk your dog on a leash in the Safe Zone with the collar unit powered ON
and Fence activated.
2. Calmly and purposefully walk your dog towards the boundary.
3. When your dog enters the Warning Zone, the collar will give a warning. At
this point, lead your dog away from the Warning Zone and back into the
Safe Zone with the leash while giving praise (treats optional). Make sure
your dog feels or hears the warning turn on for 1-2 seconds and praise only
when you are sure it has turned off.
4. Repeat this process several times at different boundary points.
5. Train in the Warning Cue Stage until your dog consistently heads back to
the Safe Zone when he feels or hears the warning. It generally takes 1-3
consecutive days of training, at least 3 times a day to complete the Warning
Cue Stage.
