Pixel depth: In general, pixel depth defines the number of possible different values for
each color channel. Mostly this will be 8 bit, which means 2
ors".
For RGB or BGR these 8 bits per channel equal 24 bits overall.
Two bytes are needed for transmitting more than 8 bits per pixel - even if the
second byte is not completely filled with data. In order to save bandwidth, the
packed formats were introduced to Baumer EXG cameras. In this formats,
the unused bits of one pixel are filled with data from the next pixel.
