4.1 Necessary tools
• 1 plastic mallet
• Extractor
• Retaining ring pliers
• 13 flat spanner
• 6/4 hexagon socket wrench
Makeup torque : M8 : 23 Nm.
4.2 Removing the front cover
To remove front cover
Unscrew the bolts 409 securing the front cover.
Remove the front cover 401 by progressively separating
it from the pump body.

4. OPENING THE PUMP TO INSPECT

To remove piston
Remove the sleeve 515 by using the nut to release it.
Using a screwdriver as a lever, extract the piston 301.
The pumping characteristics demand a cylinder/piston
with matching dimensions. Consequently, changing the
cylinder or piston requires the replacement of both the
cylinder and the piston.
To remove mechanical seal and shaft
Remove the mechanical seal and the shaft by following
the directions § MECHANICAL SEAL.
4.3 Reassembly
Reassembly is done in the reverse order than the dismantling.
Take the following precautions :
• Check the condition of the mechanical seal (see §
MECHANICAL SEAL).
• Check that springs 504 of piston bearing 503 have not
weakened. Light load must be applied to the springs
in order to insert the piston 301 into the cylinder 201.
• Check also that the piston backspring 310 has not
weakened.
• Before refitting the front cover 401, do not forget to
refit the front cover seal 403 after making sure it is in
good condition.
