This Aero Fixed Wing Quick Setup Guide contains information that we recommend using to set up your new model. Following
each section in the order presented will allow you to quickly and easily set up your new model for use with your SD-10G transmitter.
Section 1: Using the Type Menu - Follow the information in this section to tell the transmitter what type of model you'll be flying.
The transmitter will customize the available programming options based on your choices.
Section 2: Naming Your Model - Follow the information in this section to name your model so that you can keep track of it
among your other saved models and access its programming in the future.
Section 3: Binding the Transmitter and Receiver - Follow the information in this section to bind your transmitter and receiver.
Section 4: Receiver Connections and Mounting - Follow the information in this section to connect your airborne components
to the receiver, then install the receiver into your model.

Prior to programming your SD-10G, we recommend double-checking the following:
1) Make sure that both the transmitter battery and your receiver battery are fully charged.
2) Make sure that the Flight Mode Switch (in the default configuration, Switch 10/11/12)
is set to Flight Mode 'N' (pushed 'UP') so that you don't receive an audible Flight Mode
Warning alarm when you turn the transmitter 'ON'. For more information, see the Flight
Mode Warning Alarm section on page 71 of your SD-10G User's Guide.

Before Binding your transmitter and receiver, use the TYPE menu to tell the transmitter what type of model you're programming.
Based on your input, the transmitter will determine how best to control its functions and determine what receiver channel slots
should be used for each of your model's controls. For example, if your aircraft features one aileron servo in each wing half, choosing
the AILERON>2 option will automatically change the transmitter's programming to accommodate this setup. Another example is
if your aircraft features elevons, choosing the WING>DELTA option will automatically change the transmitter's programming to
accommodate this setup. This takes the guess-work out of setting up your model.
The TYPE menu is used when setting up a new model and should be done prior Binding your transmitter and receiver
and prior to naming your model or making any programming changes, such as Dual Rate, End Point Adjustments, etc.,
using the SURFACE menu.
programming, Modulation Type, Safety Link and Model Name) for that model will be reset!
We recommend making TYPE menu programming changes prior to Binding your transmitter and receiver. If you Bind your
transmitter and receiver prior to making TYPE menu programming changes, the the Modulation and Safety Link
options you choose during the Binding process will be overwritten when you make TYPE menu programming changes.
This can result in your receiver not working. For example, if you Bind your 7-Channel FHSS-1 (FH1) receiver to the transmitter,
then make TYPE menu programming changes, the TYPE menu will automatically restore the Modulation Type to FHHS-3 (FH3).
To make the Model Type selection options for your model, follow the steps below and on the next page:
1) With the transmitter turned 'ON', navigate to the SYSTEM>TYPE menu.
2) Verify that TYPE>AERO is displayed at the top of the screen. If it's not,
highlight either TYPE>GLID or TYPE>HELI, then press the YES/+ or
NO/- keys to change the Model Type to TYPE>AERO.
3) Make your Model Type selection choices described in the detailed
sub-sections on pages 3 and 4.
