Mac Users: Disconnect your FireWire connection before changing modes or your Mac
computer will lock up.
To change modes please do the following:
To go to mode 2, press and hold the encode button for 3 seconds and release. The 12
bit and 16 bit encode LED's will alternate as a confirmation.
To go to mode 3 press and hold the encode button again for 3 seconds and release.
The CV and S/YUV LED's will alternate as a confirmation.
If the encode button is pressed and held again the DAC-2 will go back Mode 1". It is confirmed
by the 12 bit and 16 bit encode LED's staying lit for 2 seconds.
Sometimes one power supply can get confused with another. The DAC-2 uses a 9 VDC 1200mA,
AC adaptor. Using the wrong power supply can cause the DAC-2 to become unstable or not power on.
C. Preview Monitor Connections
If you would like to monitor your video, a composite video cable can be used to connect a
video monitor. Connect a composite RCA cable from the rear of the DAC-2 and connect the
opposite end to the input of your monitor.
Note: S-video cables only carry a video signal, so you will need to connect your RCA audio
cables to the converter to capture sound.
