Kamado, (pronounced Kah-mah'-dough), in Japanese loosely translates to oven, smoker, or stove,
even a fireplace. There is no true translation in English. No matter the language, you will find it does
all of these things as well as baking, babrbecuing, smoking, roasting, and just about any other methods
of cooking for any kinds of food. Prior to the modern conveniences we have today, this was the go to
method for cooking/barbecuing. It is still a major appliance in this modern day, just more of a well
kept secret. The only limits for your Kamado Rocket is your imagination!
The Kamado Rocket combines the traditional kamado style with the best quality materials to bring
you the hands down best cooking experience on the market. From the first time you see it, the hand laid
tile on the exterior draws you in for a closer look. Every piece of metal from the interior parts to the
hardware on the outside is made from U.S. made 304 stainless steel for a low maintenance and trouble
free experience. Our industry first gas burner system allows you to rapidly start your charcoal to
minimize start up and will actually get hot enough to cook with as well with either propane or natural
gas.. The shell is made from a top of the line, thermodynamic material that speeds up the cooking time
almost in half in certain instances while keeping food moist and juicy.
Your Kamado Rocket comes pre-assembled when brand new. However some things may have moved
around during shipping so you may want to open it up and make sure everything is in its proper place.
The thermostat does not come installed. To install it, just simply remove it from the small box, locate
the hole in the front of the lid, and slide it in. The hole is generally hidden in a grout line in the tile,
(between the tiles).
The charcoal grate should be set in the recessed lip of the fire box before adding charcoal. The main
cooking grate should also be set in place at the top recessed lip of the base.
Your Kamado Rocket requires an initial heat cycle to properly break in. You will need to bring the
temperature up to approximately 225F for one hour. When you have done this, let the Kamado Rocket
naturally cool down on its own. What this does is let the excessive water, (from the manufacturing
process), sweat off or escape from the shell. If the lid is opened, you will see moisture build up and is
what is expected to happen from this procedure. After done, you will never have to do it again. If this
procedure is not performed, damage can occur and will result in a void of the warranty.
