Problem
Motor does not start

7. Putting Out of Operation

Danger ! Risk of injury !
V When carrying out maintenance work, always switch
off the motor, wait for the cutting blades to stop moving,
unplug the mains plug, and wear protective gloves.
Possible cause
No mains voltage because
fuse is defective.
Power cable defective
Blockage protection activated
due to constant overload or
blockage at the cylinder.
Blockage due to too soft
shredding material.
Cutting cylinder rotating
backwards.
Collection container over-full
(cylinder blocked).
Shredder blocked by shredded
material.
Cutting cylinder worn or
damaged.
Repairs to the electrical component and replacement of the
cutting cylinder and counter-roller must only be carried out
by GARDENA Service or an authorised specialist dealer.
v Store your shredder in a dry place out of the reach of children.
Product must not be added to normal household refuse but must
be disposed of properly.
Remedy
v Install new fuse.
v Check power cable /
replace power cable.
v After waiting until the cool-
ing-down time has elapsed,
the motor can be restarted.
Add harder branches.
v Reverse the direction of
rotation.
v Empty the collection
container.
v Switch off the shredder and
wait until cylinder has
stopped moving. Switch the
shredder back on.
v Cutting cylinder must be
replaced by GARDENA
Service or an authorised
specialist.
