5. Installation and operation
-
Installation:
This pump requires a licensed or certified electrician or qualified installer to ensure that there is adequate
protection between the pump motor and the mains power supply in accordance with local safety regulations.
DO NOT use an extension cord to connect the device to the mains power supply.
1. Install the pump as close to the aquarium as possible, in a dry, well-ventilated area. Protect the pump from
excessive moisture.
2. Place the pump as close as possible to the water intake point (filter or aquarium) so that the suction line is
short, straight and direct to reduce friction losses.
3. Before installing the pump, make sure the base is firm, elevated, rigid and free from vibration.
4. Secure the pump to the base with screws or bolts to limit vibration and stress on the pipe or connections.
5. Leave enough space for gate valves in the suction and pressure lines, if required.
6. Make sure there is enough space for engine ventilation.
7. Connect the suction and pressure lines to the outlet and inlet of the aquarium or filter tank.
8. Make sure the soil drainage is adequate to prevent flooding.
9. Make sure the pump and piping are accessible for maintenance.
-
Operation:
1. Never let the pump run dry! Dry-running of the pump can damage the mechanical seal and cause leakage
and flooding.
2. Always STOP the pump before releasing all pressure from the pump and piping system.
3. Never tighten or loosen screws while the pump is running.
4. The suction line and the suction socket in the aquarium or filter tank must be free of cloggings. The hoses
have to be checked to ensure that they are properly installed and tightened and that they are not pushing
or pulling on the pump suction or discharge port.

Maintenane / Operation
The mechanical seal of the pump does not need to be lubricated. We recommend to change it regularly to avoid
engine damage in the event of leakage due to wear and tear.
