Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
Heat does not come on when
the thermostat or valve is on
Pilot burner will not light
Pilot burner will not stay lit
Fat appears to smoke
excessively
Food sticks to the griddle or
burning around edges
Food is undercooked inside
Food tastes greasy or has an
objectionable off-flavor

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Pilot burner not lit
Griddle shut-off valve not in ON position
Gas valve malfunction
Pilot valve turned off
Obstructed pilot orifice
Pilot gas turned off at the pilot
Obstructed Pilot orifice
Gas supply is not purged of air
Air is blowing pilot light out
Heat is set too high
Moisture in the food may be turning
into steam
Heat is set too high
Griddle surface needs to be cleaned
and/or re-seasoned
Grates need to be oiled
Heat is set too high or too low
Food may not have been cooked for long
enough time
Food itself may have off flavor
Food may have been stored

SOLUTIONS
Light and adjust pilot burner (pg . 6)
