Removing the Base Latch
Installing the Base Latch
CAUTION:
Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions located in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as the back panel) on the computer.
Removing the Base Latch
1. Follow the instructions in
"Preparing to Work Inside the

center control
cover.
3. Remove the keyboard.
4. Remove the
display
assembly.
5. Remove the
palm
rest.
6. Remove the
speaker
assembly.
7. Pull the base latch straight up and out of the computer base (no screws secure it in place).

1. Slide the latch over the notch located in the center of the computer base.
