Known Restrictions and Limitations
Summary
When 2 PoE capable
switches are connected to
each other, one of the 2
switches may consume
power form the neighboring
switch and not from its
internal power supply.

User Impact
"Receiving" switch is not able to provide
PoE power to PD devices attached to it.
When sending wire-speed traffic and the
refresh rate is longer than 15 seconds,
the WEB GUI displays "-" instead of a
real value.
After the USB key is inserted and
removed several times very quickly
(within a second) along with the "dir usb:"
command, the key stops responding.
The USB key becomes operational after
reboot.
Some of IP Phones create a short on
Ethernet wires when connected to
PC55xx POE ports. Connecting such
phone to PC55xxP might cause a
leakage of power to other POE devices
connected on the same switch. This may
cause POE issues on neighboring ports.
When
port is in portfast status and in
down state, after reboot the port is
presented in show spanning-tree as not
supporting the portfast.
Subject to Change Without Notice
Workaround
Disable PoE on the ports which connect
2 PoE enabled devices.
When sending wire-speed traffic, use
refresh rate of 15 seconds.
Wait a few seconds between insertion
and removal of the USB key.
Two options are available to work
around this issue:
•
Use a RJ45-Cat5 splitter cable
(2-to-1 RJ45 Splitter Cable
Adapter-F/M)
•
Use a two pair Ethernet cable
(e.g. Cat3)
Once the interface moves to up state,
portfast functions as expected
When the interface is down, refer to
the running-configuration output
instead the show spanning –tree.
