Equipment
Safe-control information system (not on all appliances)
Frozen food symbols are shown on the left of the drawers and
numbers 1 to 12 representing the months on the right. Engage
slides
CD
and
CD,
provided with the freezer, in the rail as shown
in
fig. A. Move slides
CD
opposite the symbols for the food
stored in the drawer. Move the appropriately coloured slides
CD
opposite the numbers of the months by which the food in
the drawer should be consumed.
Example:
Fish can be kept safely in the freezer until March. Move one
slide to the fish symbol and another slide of the same colour
to month number 3.
On information systems with a sliding display as illustrated in
fig. B, only frozen food symbols are shown on the drawers.
Set the appropriate month number on sliding display
CD
by
turning disc
CD.
Engage sliding display
CD
in the rail.
Example:
Game can be kept safely in the freezer until October. Slide the
display to the game symbol and set to number 10 by turning
the disc.
Freezing chart (if provided)
The freezing chart (fig.
C)
is attached to the inside of the door.
Line a= frozen food symbols with storage life in months
Line b = brief instructions for freezing large quantities of
food
Making ice cubes
Add water to the ice-cube tray
(fig.
D)
until threequarters full,
and place it in the deep-freeze
storage
or ice-cube compart-
ment.
Twist the tray or hold it briefly under running water to remove
the ice cubes.
Freezing tray (if supplied, depending on model)
Fruit (in particular berries and fruit pieces) and
vegetables
for
desserts, side dishes and dressings can be protected from
damage and frozen on this freezing tray (fig.
E).
Spread the
food to be frozen on the freezing tray (fruit does not stick to-
gether and largely retains its shape), freeze through in 10 to 12
hours and then repack in freezer bags or containers.
When thawing, spread the frozen food out.
