Center the condenser in accordance with the following proce-
dure.
1. Select the BF (brightfield) observation light path (with no opti-
cal element engaged).
2. Engage the top lens by motorized operation into the light path.
3. Open the aperture iris diaphragm by motorized operation.
4. Fully open the field iris diaphragm of the microscope.
5. Place the specimen on the stage, engage the 10X objective in
the light path, and bring the specimen into focus.
6. Reduce the microscope's field iris diaphragm opening until
the diaphragm image can be seen.
7. Looking through the eyepiece, raise the condenser almost al
the way up to bring the iris diaphragm image into focus.
8. Gradually opening the field iris diaphragm, bring the reduced
image into the center of the eyepiece field of view, by adjust-
ing the 2 condenser centering screws of the microscope us-
ing 2 Allen screwdrivers (one provided with the microscope
and the other with condenser). (The reduced polygonal image
of the diaphragm should become inscribed in the circle which
indicates the field of view.)
9. After the centering is completed, continue to open the field iris
diaphragm slightly until its image circumscribes the field of
view.
