10. Position the faceplate over the aluminum sub plate and insert the flared portion of the two-part
rivet through the faceplate and aluminum subplate.
VII. POWER SUPPLY
1. Remove power supply with cable from the shipping carton.
2. Plug the power supply transformer into a 120-volt outlet that is within 5 feet of the main manifold.
3. Plug the power supply connector to the receptacle at the top of the manifold circuit board.
VIII. GENERAL PLUMBING
Complete System Installation Steps Include:
1. Run oxygen, nitrous piping.
2. Install outlet stations in designated areas.
3. Check outlets for crossed gas lines.
4. Perform piping leak tests.
5. Complete installation of Manifold Package.
General System Requirements:
1. Remote tank rooms must be kept locked. A zone valve is required when manifold is installed in a
remote location.
2. Natural vent openings free space shall be a minimum of 72 sq. inches.
3. Use 1/2" O.D. tubing for oxygen lines.
4. Use 3/8" O.D. for nitrous oxide lines.
5. Type K or L copper tubing, seamless AR copper tubing or standard weight brass piping is required.
6. Copper-to-copper joints are to be made using copper phosphorous brazing filler without flux
(reference: ANSI/AWS A5.8 specification for brazing filler material).
7. Piping must be continuous purged with dry nitrogen during brazing.
8. DO NOT USE OIL OR GREASE.
9. Run nitrogen gas through oxygen line and check each oxygen and nitrous oxide outlet to verify that
the nitrogen gas only comes out of the oxygen line outlet (this is a check that is preformed to elimi-
nate the possibility of crossed gas lines).
10. Test piping for leaks at 150 psig for a 24-hour pressure test.
The installation of gas storage must be in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association
Standards and inspected by the local fire department to assure compliance with the NFPA. All infor-
mation provided is intended to assist in the installation of the medical gas system, it is not intended
to be complete or eliminate the need to reference NFPA 99 regulations.
