Redundancy functions of the AddFEM SoE
With operating mode 1 in accordance with section "Operating modes (Page 15)", the
connection between the host and the AddFEM SoE is designed redundantly via two
PROFIBUS connections. As a rule, the PROFIBUS DP interfaces X3A and X3B are
equivalent.
Data is exchanged simultaneously between the AddFEM SoE and the AS 400 via both
PROFIBUS connections. Events are only reported via the active PROFIBUS to the AS 400.
As a rule, analog outputs of the AddFEM SoE can only take over one of the two output
records that arrive in parallel via the two PROFIBUS interfaces. The following are passed on
to the analog outputs and thus to the actuator:
● Either the output data that arrive via the PROFIBUS interface X3A
● Or the output data that arrive via the PROFIBUS interface X3B
