SOUND CONTROL

Adjusting sound quality with the graphic

equalizer

1, Press the SOUND CONTROL ON/OFF button to switch on.

@ The SOUND CONTROL indicator in the display section lights.

2. Select a frequency with the «, » CURSOR EQUALIZER but-

tons,

® With the <d, » buttons, move the "----" so thatitis lit at the loca-

tion of the frequency you want to adjust.

3. Adjust the level of equalization with the CURSOR EQUALIZER

A (UP), ¥ (DOWN) buttons

Press the & button to increase the level of equalization.

Press

the ¥ button to decrease the level of equatization

4. Repeat procedures 2 and 3 to create your desired equaliza-

tion pattern.

Use the CAR and HEADPHONE equalization patterns when recording

tapes.

1. Press the PRESET/PGM button to select PRESET.

2. Select your desired equalization pattern with a memory re-

cali button.

Select "image effect" and change the effect leve! with the SOUND

JOG until you have created your desired sound.

The following four "image effects" are available.

SHARP.

VIVID

WARM

MILD

1. Press the SOUND CONTROL ON/OFF button to switch on,

You can enjoy recalling the following five preset equalization pat-

terns.

@ HEAVY...

This pattern boosts high and low frequencies, for

a louder, more powerful sound.

it's ideal for rock

and pop music, and live performances.

@ CLEAR

. Ideal for fusion and electronic music, this pattern

provides clear middies and highs

@ VOCAL ........... When listening to opera or musicals, this preset

boosts the vocals so you can hear them clearly.

®@ CAR...

This is a good equalization pattern to use when

recording tapes for use on your car stereo.

° HEADPHONE

.. This is a good equalization pattern to use when

recording tape to listen to on headphones.

The effect graphic equalizer pattern changes automatically depend-

ing on the amplifier volume level setting. The lower the volume

level,

the more the bass and treble are boosted. If the volume level is

raised, the graphic equalizer has less effect. .

You can still enjoy a powerful sound even at low volume levets.

Press ACTIVE LOUDNESS

button to light ACTIVE indicator.

The original equalization curve and the active loudness curve will be

displayed for a few seconds.

Press ACTIVE LOUDNESS

button again to cancel.
