INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
WARNING: MEASURE THE OUTER DIAMETER OF THE SPRING TO BE
COMPRESSED AND SELECT THE CORRECT SET OF YOKES.
WARNING: ENSURE THAT THE COIL SPRING TO BE COMPRESSED IS FREE
FROM DIRT AND GREASE WHERE THE YOKES WILL BE IN CONTACT WITH IT
IMPORTANT: Do not use the coil spring compressor fully extended, but
adjusted to a length of approx. 200 mm. This will allow adequate travel to
expand and compress the spring.
1. Raise the vehicle to allow access to the spring.
• Make sure that the vehicle is safely and correctly supported.
2. Put the yoke (A) into the lower
part of the spring windings.
3. Insert yoke (B) into the upper part
of the spring windings.
• Make sure that the spring
windings sit between the inner
and outer rims of the yoke.
4. Insert the body of the spring
compressor up through the spring.
• The hexagonal drive nut must
be facing downwards.
5. Guide the compressor through
the lower yoke (A) and up into the
upper yoke (B),
6. When the compressor has passed
through the upper yoke turn the
body through approx 50° so it
locates in the locking grooves on
the yoke as shown.
• Make sure that the spring is
correctly placed within both
yokes and yokes are correctly
aligned with the compressor
body.
