Chapter 4 Troubleshooting

Normal working status: when FE1 Fiber Modem works normally,

PWR(Green) indicator is bright, TX/E1LOS(Green)、RX/E1LOF(Green)

indicators are blinking, the others are off.

When the device has failure, firstly make sure the failure range according

to the status of the indicators, then deal with the problem.

Trouble phenomenon: no reaction after electrifying

Diagnosis:

Examine the power supply, if it is DC model, make sure the polarity, if

the wire is connected inversely, please correct it! If it is AC model,

please make sure whether the power switch is open.

Exclusion:

Correct the power connection or open the power switch.

Trouble phenomenon: TX/E1LOS indicator is blinking

Diagnosis:

The E1 cables connection of local device is normal, those of remote

device is abnormal or don't be connected.

Exclusion:

Examine whether the receiving and transmitting E1 cables are inverse,

if so please correct them; whether the E1 connectors are loosened, if

so please make them again.

Trouble phenomenon: RX /E1LOS indicator is blinking

Diagnosis:

E1 of the remote device is frame-asynchronous.

Exclusion:

Adjust the clock and time slots settings of remote device referring to

this manual, so that the device works at correct status.

Trouble phenomenon: OLOS indicator is bright

Diagnosis:

The device is set to internal clock, loopback the input and output

ports via fiber, if this indicator is off, then mainly examine the fiber

line.

Exclusion:

If the fiber connector is polluted, then clean it with alcohol or

exchange it. If the line has failure, then examine the line by technical

engineers.
