Receiving an alarm call

When the Epi-Care® free enters alarm mode, it initiates an
alarm call and sends a text message to the configured alarm
number. The call is answered by picking up the phone,
listening to the audible beeps and hanging up the phone, when
the beeps has stopped. Subsequently the Epi-Care® free will
automatically reset to monitoring mode and further resetting is therefore not needed.
If the alarm call is not answered or the phone is not hung up, the Epi-Care® free will
attempt 2 more calls. If these calls are not answered, the control unit will try the backup
number, if it is configured. The procedure for the backup number is the same as for the
alarm number. If neither the alarm number nor the backup number acknowledge the
alarm, the call procedure will be repeated after approximately 5 minutes.
Sending of text messages requires an alarm text to be configured. Notice that text
messages can be delayed depending on the condition of the cellular network.
Advice: Set the Epi-Care® free phone number as a contact in the
caretaker's phone with the name of the user. Thus enabling the caretaker
to immediately see who is calling, during an alarm.
Note: If using the Epi- Care ® free with an external call system, it can be reset
manually by pressing the OK button.
