For the connection of aluminum wires to HSK and HSKG series stud terminals, corresponding AL / CU compression cable lugs
in ring form that are suitable for the connection of aluminum wires must generally be pressed onto the wire ends.
Screw connection terminal blocks (SRK, SSL, RK, SL, TKS, SDK) allow a direct one-sided or double-sided connection of round
solid (RE) or sector-shaped solid (SE) aluminum wires taking into account the restrictions listed in this document.
General note:
A problematic connection is generally the connection in humid environments as it can easily lead to excessive oxidation
of the aluminium. In this case, the use of suitable AL / CU press connectors with CU bolts for contacting is imperative even
when using solid aluminum wires in order to ensure reliable contacting over a long period of time.
Example:
The terminals are installed in the outer cabinets of solar systems or wind turbines, which have large temperature
fluctuations during the year due to the installation site and surroundings. Therefor under certain circumstances,
condensation can form in the control cabinet or housing.
The following restrictions apply to the direct connection of the conductors in normal environments:
The wire / terminal combination used must be a combination corresponding to the table below.

The aluminum conductors used must be solid, round (RE) or solid, sector-shaped (SE).
For all other types of multi-wire aluminum conductors, appropriate AL / CU compression joints must be used to connect the
conductor in the terminal blocks.
