The «1000 Hours Control» test
by Jaeger-LeCoultre
Jaeger-LeCoultre subjects its watches to the rigorous «1000
Hours Control» test programme. Unique in its kind, this test
consists of 1000 hours of comprehensive, stringent checks.
The «1000 Hours Control» seal or marking, affi xed or
engraved on the back of your watch, certifi es that it has
undergone this observation programme in our laboratories
and has successfully passed all tests. The latter include rate
regularity checks, reactions to changes in temperature and
barometric pressure, resistance to shocks and magnetic fields,
as well as water-resistance tests. Your watch is therefore
capable of withstanding the trials of everyday life when you
wear it on your wrist.
Jaeger-LeCoultre tests both the movement and the fully
cased-up watch.

Technical characteristics

- Automatic winding mechanical movement,
Calibre 924.
- 28,800 vibrations per hour.
- Power reserve : approximately 45 hours.
- Accuracy adjusted and tested in six positions.
Movement
Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 924.
Use

Starting the watch

Pull the crown out to position 1.
A few clockwise turns of the crown are enough to set the
watch running. It is then automatically wound when you wear
it. Kindly note that the crown does not lock when winding,
even when the watch is fully wound.
Note
The power-reserve indication hand, located at 12 o'clock,
allows you to check the level to which your watch is wound
at any time.

Setting the day and hour
Pull the crown out to position 2.
The movement is then locked («stop seconds» function). To
enable precise time setting in seconds, stop the seconds hand
at 12 o'clock.
Move the hands forward clockwise past midnight, the time
when the day of the week disc moves on day forward. After
reaching the desired day of the week and then performed
precise time setting, push the crown back to position 1.
When you set the time on your watch in the afternoon, you
should fi rst move the hands past midday.
Setting the date, month and moon phase
The date, month and moon phase can be corrected by
pressing correctors A, B and C using the corrector tool
supplied with your watch.
Setting the date
Press corrector B located at 4 o'clock.
Each press moves the date hand one day forward.
For months with less than 31 days, repeat this process to
reach the 1st of the month.
Setting the month
Press corrector A located at 2 o'clock.
Each press moves the disc one month forward.
Moon-phase setting
Press corrector C located at 8 o'clock.
Each press moves the disc one day forward.
To achieve the correct setting, use the calendar at the end
of these instructions, to calculate the number of days that
have elapsed since the last full moon. Centre the moon in the
aperture by pressing the number of corrections required, and
then move the disc forward by the number of days that have
elapsed since the last full moon.
N.B. : Correction of the date or the moon phase should not
be performed between 10.00 pm and 3.00 am. During that
period the automatic date-change mechanism is already in
action.
Never turn the hands anti-clockwise (except for minor
corrections of less than 1 hour).
