Ember
Project Ember has several jumpers settings to customize the amp the way you would like it. Below gives you the
details on what these jumper settings do.
INPUT CAPACITORS AND RESISTORS CAN BE BYPASSED PER YOUR PREFERENCE
(DEFAULT SETTING SHOWN IN RED)
AVAILABLE SETTINGS:
C+R = SIGNAL GOES THROUGH CAPACITOR AND RESISTOR
SETTING HELPS ELIMINATE ANY SCRATCH NOISE IN THE VOLPOT CAUSED BY DC
LEACKAGE FROM A TUBE
BP-R = INPUT RESISTOR IS BYPASSED. THIS SETTING CAN LOWER BACKGROUND NOISE
ON CERTAIN TUBES LIKE 12AT7'S OR 12AX7'S. VOLPOT SCRATCH MAY BE PRESENT
BP-C = BYPASSES THE INPUT CAPACITOR. THIS SETTING IS MORE OF A PURIST
FUNCTION FOR THOSE THAT WANT ONE LESS COMPONENT IN THE SIGNAL PATH.
VOLPOT SCRATCH WILL LIKELY BE PRESENT IN THIS SETTING
BC-C+R = BYPASSES THE INPUT CAPACITOR AND RESISTOR. FOR THE PURIST THAT
WANTS TO LOWER BACKGROUND NOISE ON CERTAIN TUBES LIKE A 12AT7 OR 12AX7.
VOLPOT SCRATCH WILL LIKELY BE PRESENT
BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE JUMPERS SHOULD BE EQUAL IN SETTING
OUTPUT RESISTANCE IS CONFIGURABLE BETWEEN 0.1Ω (LOW)
35Ω (MID) AND 120Ω (HIGH). HIGHER OUTPUT
RESISTANCE CAN HAVE AN EFFECT ON BASS AND/OR TREBLE
FREQUENCIES. THIS EFFECT IS DEPENDANT ON THE HEADPHONE
IMPEDANCE. (EXAMPLE OF 35Ω SETTING IN RED) EXPERIMENT BY
CHANGING THE SETTINGS TO FIND WHAT YOUR PREFERENCE IS
INPUT ATTENUATION CAN BE CHANGED VIA THE WO/AM (WITHOUT
MODULE) AND W/AM (WITH MODULE)
JUMPER TABS AT THE BACK, RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE
AMPLIFIER. DEFAULT SETTING IS LOW GAIN OR W/AM
