move smoothly out over the pool, as it begins the cycle to ensure adequate deck clearance.

NOTE: The Liberty Lift

does NOT rotate out over the pool, rather it moves laterally

forward slightly out over the water and then down. When you have completed the down

cycle of the lift, you will be facing in the same direction, as you were when you were

sitting in the lift on the deck.

The hand held controller is submergible, so you can simply hang onto the control as you

are lowering or raising the lift. The controller can simply rest on the rail or the arm of the

wheelchair when you are not using the lift.

You may stop or reverse the travel of the lift at any time during the cycle simply by taking

f i n g e r p r e s s u r e o f f o f t h e " d o w n a r r o w " , a n d t h e n a p p l y i n g p r e s s u r e t o t h e " u p a r r o w " t o

reverse the travel and return to the deck position. It is not necessary to lower the lift all the way

the bottom of t h e l i f t ' s s t r o k e , y o u m a y s t o p t h e l i f t a t a n y t i m e i n t h e d o w n w a r d c y c l e w h e n i t

is comfortable for you to exit the chair into the water. This is NOT true however, when

returning to the deck during the up cycle. The lift should always be cycled completely to the up

or deck position before attempting to exit the chair on the deck.

NOTE: For safety reasons, continuous pressure on the control buttons is

required to keep the lift moving. If you release pressure on the control

button the lift will automatically stop.

When you are sufficiently submerged into the water to allow for an easy exit from the chair,

you may stop the lift cycle by releasing pressure on the control button. Now release the safety

tie rope on the front of the platform by grasping and opening the latch that secures the rope to

the eyebolts located on either side hand rail. Exit the chair by sliding straight forward until you

are clear of the seat and the platform.

When you are ready to return to the lift seat and exit the pool or spa, make sure that the

platform is lowered (submerged) sufficiently to allow you to easily slide into the chair.

Next, re-secure the safety tie rope on the front of the platform by attaching the latch that

secures the rope to either side hand rail. Now take the handheld controller and apply pressure

t o t h e " u p a r r o w " . Ma i n t a i n p r e s s u r e o n t h e u p b u t t o n u n t i l t h e l i f t h a s c y c l e d u p o u t o f t h e

pool, and the platform is level or slightly above the pool deck. Next, lower the tailgate ramp

onto the pool deck. You may now replace the controller on the side rail, release the wheelchair

brakes and exit the lift.

PLACING THE LIBERTY LIFT INTO THE STORAGE POSITION

Your new Liberty Lift is designed to fold completely up and out of the way so that you can use

the entire pool when the lift is not being used to raise or lower a patron (See Photo 2).
