Surface Igniter
Visually check that surface igniter 'glows' when thermostat first calls for heat. Check with
1.
unit 'ON' and thermostat calling for heat (Fig. 20 & 21).
Check for 120 volts from S2 connection on ignition module to Neutral wire on back of unit
2.
(Fig. 22).
Check for 0.8 - 1.5 amps from S2 connection on ignition module to Neutral wire on back on
3.
unit (Fig. 22).
Disconnect wire terminals, check resistance through igniter, approx. 23 Ohms at 70°F.

Flame Sensor
Visually check that flame sensor 'glows' when burner flames are 'ON'. Check with unit 'ON',
1.
thermostat calling for heat and burner flames 'ON' (Fig. 25).
Check for 5 VDC on ignition module 'FC' terminals. If less than 2 VDC, replace flame sensor
2.
