recorder or DAT deck to the CD DIGITAL
OUT OPTICAL jack on the rear panel of the
HTC-H2900 with the Optical Cable (Sony
POC-15HG etc.).
You can record from the CD into the MD
recorder or DAT deck digitally.
To connect an MD recorder or a DAT
deck for analog recording

1 Connect the LINE IN jacks of the MD
recorder or DAT deck to the
MD/VIDEO/DAT OUT jacks on the
rear panel of the STR-H2900 with an
audio cord.
Connect the LINE OUT jacks of the MD
recorder or DAT deck to the MD/
VIDEO/DAT IN jacks on the rear panel
of the STR-H2900 with an audio cord.
Make sure you connect the plugs to
jacks of the same colour.
2 Press one of the function buttons (or
FUNCTION on the remote commander)
to select the sound sources.
You can record from the sound sources
of the stereo into the MD recorder or
DAT deck in analog sound.
You can also listen to the sound from
the MD recorder or DAT deck by
pressing the MD/DAT/VIDEO button.
To connect other equipment with the
AU BUS jack
rear panel of STR-H2900
other Sony
equipment
You can connect other Sony equipment
with AU BUS to the AU BUS jack.
You can use Automatic Source Selection,
Synchronized Recording and Timer
Recording with the connected equipment.
However, these features may not be
provided on some models.
To control an MD with the supplied
remote commander
The remote commander provided with this
unit is equipped with MD operation
buttons, and can be used to control the
basic functions of Sony MD recorder.

To connect a turntable

1 Connect the cable to the PHONO jacks
on the rear panel of STR-H2900.
2 Press PHONO (or FUNCTION on the
remote comander until PHONO
indication lights).
To connect a microphone or
headphones
You can connect the microphone (mini-
jack) to the MIX MIC jack on the front panel
of STR-H2900.
You can connect the headphones (stereo-
minijack) to the HEADPHONES jack on the
front panel of STR-H2900.

1 Connect the LINE IN jacks of the VCR
to the MD/VIDEO/DAT OUT jacks on

audio/video connecting cable.
Connect the LINE OUT jacks of the VCR
to the MD/VIDEO/DAT IN jacks on the
rear panel of STR-H2900 with the
audio/video connecting cable.
Make sure you connect the plugs to
jacks of the same colour.
2 Press MD/DAT/VIDEO (or press
FUNCTION on the remote commander
until MD/DAT/VIDEO indication
lights).
The connected sound comes through the
speakers.
You can also record the VCR sound.
