Armrest Adjustment
The armrests are hinged and height adjustable. To flip back the armrests for lateral transfers:
• Remove the lateral supports on the side of the lateral transfer.
• Unscrew the grip knob on the side of the lateral transfer (located directly underneath the armrest
on the seat frame) counterclockwise until the armrest can be lifted up freely. Lift up the armrest
out of the path of the transfer (Figure 8).
• Once the transfer is complete, return the armrest to the horizontal position and relock the grip knob
by turning clockwise until fastened.
• Reattach the lateral supports.
To adjust the height of the arms:
• Locate the embroidered outer flap of the armrest side padding.
• Open the hook-and-loop closure and lift up the flap.
• Once lifted, squeeze the two release pins inward (Figure 8). Simultaneously, lift the upper armrest
section to the desired height. Height adjustment is in 1" increments.
• Release the pins to lock in place and resecure the flap with the hook-and-loop closure.
• WARNING: Ensure the armrests are locked into horizontal position before moving the chair.
• WARNING: Ensure the user's arms and hands are inside the chair frame and clear of all pinch
points before raising or lowering the armrests.

Casters
The chair has two front and two rear swivel casters, all with individual wheel locks to help prevent
any unwanted movement. The wheel locks should always be engaged when the chair is not in use or
when a user is being transferred into or out of the chair.
• To engage the locks, apply foot pressure to the bottom of each lock pedal on each caster.
• To release the locks, apply foot pressure to the top of each lock pedal on each caster.
• WARNING: To avoid injury, never use your hands to engage or release the caster wheel locks.
• WARNING: To ensure safety, the caregiver should become proficient with the caster wheel locks
prior to using the chair.
• WARNING: Always engage the caster wheel locks when transferring into and out of the chair.
• WARNING: Caster wheel locks are not brakes. Do not use the caster wheel locks to slow down
the chair, or while the chair is moving. Caster wheel locks are only intended to help keep the chair in
place when it is at a complete stop.
