MIDI Data Format
If you're already very familiar with MIDI, or are using a com-
puter to control your music hardware with computer-generated
MIDI messages, the data provided in this section can help you
to control the YDP-88II.
1. NOTE ON/OFF
Data format: [9nH] -> [kk] -> [vv]
9nH = Note ON/OFF event (n = channel number)
kk = Note number
Transmit: 15 ~ 114 = D#-1 ~ F#7
Receive: 21 ~ 108 = A-1 ~ C7
vv = Velocity (Key ON = 1 ~ 127. Key OFF = 0)
Data format: [8nH] -> [kk] -> [vv]
8nH = Note OFF event (n = channel number)
kk = Note number
Transmit: 15 ~ 114 = D#-1 ~ F#7

ensure the same initial settings.
* When [61H] is received, playback will not start
when "start" (FAH) is received. However, "stop"
(FCH) and the "timing clock" (F8H) will not be
affected. Use [62H] to cancel this function.
