Practical tips and tricks for efficient bleeding of brake, transmission or clutch hydraulic systems.
Once the HU 1108 filling and bleeding device has been connected to the vehicle using an adapter,
the bleeding or fluid exchange process begins:
• Carry out purging in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's instructions.
• Open each bleed screw one by one until the hydraulic fluid is clear and free of bubbles - For
better control of the outgoing hydraulic fluid (cleanliness) and accurate measurement of the used
hydraulic fluid, we recommend using our collection bottle with graduated scale.
(HU 1112).
• When completely filling the hydraulic system, it is preferable to have all bleed screws open.
Hydraulic fluid pushes air ahead of it. When the bleed screws are open, the air takes the path of
least resistance and escapes immediately, without back pressure or mixing. When clear, clean
hydraulic fluid begins to emerge from the bleed screw, manually tighten one bleed screw after
another. Once this process is complete, tighten the bleed screws firmly.
• For hydraulic systems with hydraulic clutches, a larger flushing volume is required to ensure
proper exchange of hydraulic fluid, even in areas not directly crossed by the fluid flow. It is essential
to note that systems may have several bleed valves. All bleed valves must be bled sequentially.
