Installing the Batteries

1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, open the battery compartment

door located on the back of the unit.

2. Insert 3 new AA (R6) batteries in the battery compartment.

Make sure batteries match the + and – as indicated in the

battery compartment diagram.

3. Replace battery compartment door. Do not overtighten screw.

Battery Use Cautions and Tips for Safety & Best Performance

• Only use the recommended/supplied batteries or equivalent.

• Use alkaline batteries for longer life.

• Do not mix old and new batteries, and do not mix alkaline, carbon-zinc or

rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries.

• Insert batteries with proper polarity (+/–) as indicated.

• Remove exhausted batteries from product.

• Recharge rechargeable batteries under adult supervision.

• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

• Do not open batteries or heat them beyond normal ambient temperatures.

• To prevent battery leakage or damage remove batteries from a product if it

will not be used for a month or longer.

• Use extreme caution handling leaking batteries (avoid direct contact with

eyes and skin). If battery leakage comes in contact with eyes,

IMMEDIATELY flush the eye with lukewarm and gently flowing water for at

least 30 minutes. If skin contact occurs, wash skin with clear water for at

least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if any symptoms occur.

• Store in cool, dry, ventilated area away from hazardous or combustible

material.

• Do not dispose of batteries in the household trash or fire.

• Follow applicable laws and local regulations for the disposal and

transportation of batteries.

Volume Switch

This unit comes equipped with a Volume Switch that is set to

Demo mode for in-store demonstrations. When you are ready

to play, slide the switch to High or Low.

SFX Buttons

Using the Shifter

The Shifter switch has five positions that move up and down

to move the car left and right. Each time the shifter is used,

Lightning McQueen will move, activating the flashing LEDs and

sound effects!

SFX Buttons

Press any of the three SFX Buttons to hear fun sound effects

and speech from Lightning McQueen!

MP3 Mode

Connect your MP3 player, smartphone, or other audio device

to play your favorite music through the built-in speaker!

1. Use an audio cable (not included) to connect your audio

device to the unit. Plug one end of the cable into the

Shifter

headphone jack of your audio device, and the other end of

the cable to the AUX jack on the unit.

2. Put your audio device in play mode and use the controls on

your audio device to navigate tracks.

Note: MP3 Mode will automatically time out after 5 minutes.

Press any button or move the shifter on the toy to

reactivate MP3 Mode.

Troubleshooting

If the unit is experiencing a fuzzy or distorted sound, check the

batteries. They are most likely weak and need to be replaced

with 3 brand new AA batteries.

In the event of interrupted operation, use the extended wire

of a paperclip or other thin tool to press in the Reset button

located on the back of the unit.
