Safety Guidelines
Riding with your pet can be a very fun outdoors experience, but please
make sure you understand the safety guidelines for your own and your
pet's safety.
Inspect and maintain your bicycle and bicycle trailer regularly.
o
See also our safety checklist at the end of this booklet.
This bicycle trailer is designed to carry a maximum weight of
o
100 lbs/45 kg. Never carry a larger load or more than three
smaller pets inside the trailer.
The trailer cabin can be used as a foldable crate or car seat.
o
Train your pet using the cabin as a containment crate before
using it in a moving situation, like trailer or stroller.
Dogs larger than 20" in height or 45 lbs should always be
o
leashed inside the trailer. There are two or four hooks located
inside the trailer to leash your pet, depending on the model.
Please consult the leash set manual for properly leashing your
dog.
Avoid sudden swerving, rocks and curbs.
o
Never pull the DoggyRide behind a motorized vehicle. It can be
o
used behind electrical bikes, but observe the recommended
speed maximum.
Never use the DoggyRide to transport people.
o
Never leave your dog unattended.
o
Use only the factory wheels with the tires inflated to the
o
pressure recommended on the tire sidewall. Check the tires
before each use.
Check the hitch attachment before use and make sure the
o
safety strap is installed properly.
Do not use the trailer if it is damaged in any way and do not
o
make modifications to it. Alterations to the frame and structure
may result in an unstable and unsafe trailer.
Observe a recommended speed maximum of 15 mph/24 kmh on
o
paved straight roads and slow down to 5 mph/8 kmh when
turning or on bumpy roads.
RIDING WITH A BICYCLE TRAILER CAN BE HAZARDOUS. FAILURE TO
OBSERVE ANY OF THE SAFETY GUIDELINES MENTIONED IN THIS MANUAL
COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
