ASTi Telestra Remote Control Interface User Guide (Version 1, Revision C)

Introduction

In order to facilitate easier integration into the simulator environment it is possible to perform

Telestra federate commands from a remote computer system connected to the Telestra unit via an

Ethernet network. This greatly simpliﬁes the inclusion of Telestra into the wider HLA based sys-

tem control architecture, particularly due to interaction of RTI master exec software and the satel-

lite applications that rely on this. Also, this removes the necessity of running the system with a

keyboard and monitor permanently connected to the unit.

The Telestra Conﬁguration Utility allows users to enable or disable access to the remote control

interface on speciﬁc network connections. For instance, Figure 1 shows the Telestra Conﬁguration

Utility setup to accept commands from only the HLA interface, ignoring commands from the

Host and DACS interfaces. Please see the Telestra Quick Start Guide for more information on

using the Telestra Conﬁguration Utility.

NOTE: By default, the Telestra federate software runs from the ﬁrst console and the remote con-

trol interface is disabled on ALL ethernet interfaces. Users must choose their desired interfaces

AND specify the port number in the Telestra conﬁguration ﬁle before using the remote control

interface.
