EXIT AND FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATIONS
Keep bilges clean; in the event where a flamable liquid such as fuel would spill into the bilge,stop using electrical components,
put the boat ashore on a trailer, lift, etc. Drain the liquid by the transom drain plug. Tilt the boat slightly ( 2-3 ° )
stern down to make sure all liquid drains out.Flush the bilge with water thouroughly and vent the boat. Do not use the boat
until any presence of flamable liquid is gone.
Servicing of fire-fighting equipment
The boat owner/operator shall
- have fire-fighting equipment checked at the intervals indicated on the equipment,
- replace portable fire extinguishers, if expired or discharged, by devices of identical
fire-fighting capacity, and- have fixed systems refilled or replaced when expired or
discharged.
Responsibility of boat owner/operator
It is the responsibility of the boat owner/operator
a) to ensure that fire-fighting equipment is readily accessible when the boat is occupied,
and
b) to inform members of the crew about
Portable extinguishers
600 cubic foot fixed automatic fire extinguisher in engine room.
This system will automatically trigger
releasing an extinguishing gas that will flood th e engine room.
If system discharges, shutdown ; Electrical system, blowers,
engines.Diesel engines will shut off automatically upon system
discharge.
Read fixed fire fighting system's owners manual carefully to
understand operation and maintenace.
Replace with no less than 600 cubic foot ( 17 cubic meter )
capacity extinguishers.
