Before You Fly!
The Robo Copter Recon™ is not a simple toy; it is a sophisticated micro flyer that
needs to be cared for properly.
For your first flight, practice in the largest room available and launch from your hand

Charging your Robo Copter Recon™:
The Robo Copter Recon™'s charger has unique peak detection circuitry that ensures an accurate charge every time and
protects your battery from the dangers of overcharging. During the charge cycle it continually monitors the battery's charge
curve and automatically stops charging when the peak/full charge is detected.
1. Make sure the controller/charger and Robo Copter Recon™ power switches are turned 'OFF'.
2. Attach the controller/charger's charge lead (in the bottom of the controller/charger) into the charging port on the
Robo Copter Recon™.
3. The LED indicator on the controller/charger will be solid when the battery is being charged, and then the LED will flash
when battery is close to full. The LED will go out when battery is fully charged.
Lifting off for the first flight:
1. Pull the throttle stick down to the bottom of its travel and then turn 'ON' the controller/charger.
2. Keeping everything clear from the rotors turn 'ON' the Robo Copter Recon™ power switch.
3. Place the Robo Copter Recon™ on the ground with the tail pointing towards you.
4. Gently push the throttle stick up, the main rotor will spin up and Robo Copter Recon™ will take off. Climb to 3–5 feet
high and hold that height.
5. If you notice that your Robo Copter Recon™ wants to 'wander/turn' to the left or right, some adjustments may be necessary.
6. If the Robo Copter Recon™ appears to tip over or skid on the ground, advance the throttle faster.
Making Flight Adjustments (Robo Copter Recon™ turns left or right):
Making Flight Adjustments (Robo Copter Recon™ turns left or right): The steering trim makes small adjustments to
Robo Copter's direction. If the nose (front) turns right press the opposite trim to the direction Robo Copter Recon™
is turning. Turns right-Trim left. Turns left-Trim right.

Flight control:
For smooth control of Robo Copter Recon™ always make small control movements.
• Flying up and down: When your Robo Copter Recon™ is stable in the air, gently push/pull the stick up/down
to make it fly higher/lower.
• Turning left and right: After you are proficient in controlling the flying height of your Robo Copter Recon™, try turning
left/right by moving the steering stick to the same direction.
• The Robo Copter Recon™ has a balance weight on the carbon
boom to adjust the flight speed. The recommended position
at the rear is for slowest forward speed. As you become more
experienced slide the adjuster progressively towards the
front to increase the forward flight speed.
Flight Tips:
• The Robo Copter Recon™ will slightly speed up/gain height turning right and slow down/loose height when turning left.
• For ground take off, put the Robo Copter Recon™ on the smooth ground and quickly push the throttle stick up to lift off.
Flying from rough ground may result in a clumsy take off or even cause the Robo Copter Recon™ to fall over.
• Do not look at the controller/charger when flying focus completely on the Robo Copter Recon™.
• Indoor flight only is recommended. It is easier and smoother if there is no wind from air conditioning or open windows.
• Please allow enough space for the flight (13 x 16 x 10 feet is recommended).
• After each flight, rest the flight battery for 1 minute prior to recharging in order to extend the battery life. This time will
allow the battery to cool down before recharging.
Warnings and Safety:
• Never fly near people, pets or furniture.
• When flying the Robo Copter Recon™, ensure you are a safe distance from people.
• Adult supervision is recommended for ages 10 and under.
• Keep the main rotors away from clothing or body parts, even when not rotating, as they could be turned on by accident.
