The grandmother of all first person shooter games is still an excellent benckmark for overall system performance even though, or
actually because it is optimized for prefetching. On the other hand, despite heavily relying on bandwidth, Quake3 Arena performance
is also strongly influenced by latencies, particularly chipset latencies. We used Point Release 1.30 to upgrade the retail version and
these recomplied DLLs
for performance optimization. The benchmark used was Demo_four.
