GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Bearcat IV is a table and mobile model, four-band FM

monitor receiver providing automatic scanning of B channels

in all of the four Public safety/Business Bands at 30-50mHz,

146-l74m]Hz, 450-470mH2, and 4?0-5L2mHz.

Its features in-

clude: Full-band coverage in all 4 bands; B plug-in crystals in

any combination may be used; high speed automatic or man-

uai scanningi channel switches to omit scanning of undesired

channels; solid state l,ight Emitting Diode channel indicators;

quieting squelch control; front-mounted 3"x5"

speaker; ex-

ternal speaker jack; cables for llTV

ac or l2V dc operation;

and operation from a single telescoping or outside antenna.

The most advanced developments in solid state circuitry

are incorporated in this receiver; dual-gate MOS ltield Effect

r-f and mixer transistors provide low noise and low cross-
