APPLICATION 4 - OUTBACK 2 WIRE START TO HONDA EB6500 4 WIRE GENERATOR START CONTROL
The GSCM-mini can be used with Outback invertors and most 3 wire gas generators . In this application the GSCM-mini
is connected to a Honda EB6500 in parallel with its combination Start/Stop switch. The Start signal can be an auto-start
based on either the generator start battery voltage or inverter battery bank voltage on terminal 4 (dashed lines) or from
the 2 wire Outback invertor generator start output. If you are using an Outback inverter it is recommended that the
inverter monitor its battery bank voltage and also the over/under AC Hz conditions. An optional Manual /Off/ Auto switch
can be used with the Invertor's 12VDC signal (see upper right-hand corner of drawing). The GSCM-mini's two relay
contact outputs are wired as shown. A DPST relay is used to provide an additional stop contact that the combination
switch uses to shutdown the generator . The GSCM-mini monitors the generators AC output to know when to dis-engage
the starter and when the generator has shutdown, either by command or by fault. When a start signal is received by
the GSCM-mini it starts the generator. After the generator starts and comes up to speed the "run" LED lights on the mini.
If the generator fails to start or fails while commanded to run the "fault" LED on the GSCM mini lights. Turning off the
power to the GSCM mini either by emergency shutdown switch or an optional power On/Off switch, for 5 seconds and
then back on, resets the fault condition and the mini is ready to receive another start command.
